Wundrful World of Christmas Returns to London with Expanded Festive Format

Wundrful World of Christmas will return to London this winter with a new home at Immerse LDN, ExCeL London, and an expanded format aimed at increasing guest dwell time and operational value.

Opening on 13 November 2026, the limited-run festive production will operate until 24 December. Created by immersive entertainment company Wundr and produced in partnership with UK-based Live Venture Group, the experience is designed for children aged three to eight and combines theatrical sets, live performance, animated characters, sound, lighting and sensory design.

Following its London debut, the 2026 edition reflects a wider trend in seasonal attractions, where operators are extending compact timed experiences into broader destination-style visits. The move to Immerse LDN also places the production within a specialist event and entertainment environment connected to ExCeL London, supporting access, visitor flow and event infrastructure.

Walk-Through Storytelling Remains Central

The core attraction remains a 50-minute walk-through experience built around a structured Christmas narrative. Guests enter Santa’s world through a simulated lift ride to the North Pole, before moving through settings including the Enchanted Forest, the Elves’ Workshop and Mrs Claus’s cottage.

The production places young visitors within a sequence of participatory scenes, including helping elves sort letters and match presents. The final stage is a meeting with Santa, supported by the offer of a child’s gift and optional commemorative photography.

For attraction designers and operators, the format demonstrates the continued commercial strength of live, story-led seasonal programming. Timed entry supports throughput planning, while the use of recognisable festive characters helps create a clear proposition for family audiences. At the same time, the production requires careful management of pacing, performer interaction, accessibility, merchandise touchpoints and photo operations.

Elves’ Playground Adds A Second Operating Layer

New for 2026 is The Elves’ Playground, a festive village included with each ticket. Visitors exit the North Pole experience through a tunnel of illuminated hanging vines into an additional area with light installations, gentle fairground rides, food and drink, and Christmas market stalls.

For B2B audiences, this is one of the most notable additions. The new area turns the visit from a single timed theatre-style product into a broader commercial environment. While entry to the playground is included, rides, food, drink and selected extras create further spending opportunities after the main walk-through element.

This structure can support stronger yield per visitor without changing the core ticketed show length. It also gives adult guests a clearer role within the visit, offering places to pause while children continue to engage with festive activity. For operators, the additional area can help manage post-show dispersal, ease peak crowd pressure and create stronger links between entertainment, catering and retail.

International Format Gains UK Development

Wundrful World of Christmas has already operated successfully in Australia, where it attracted thousands of family visitors. Its UK return suggests confidence in the format’s transferability across markets, particularly when adapted for a major London venue and supported by a larger festive village.

Wundr’s leadership has indicated that the company has used audience response to develop the London edition, adding new content and surprises for the move to Immerse LDN. For producers, this underlines the value of refining seasonal IP between runs, rather than treating each edition as a fixed repeat.

Relevance For Seasonal Attraction Operators

The 2026 return of Wundrful World of Christmas highlights several priorities for the visitor experience sector. Seasonal productions are increasingly being designed with layered income streams, flexible capacity models and destination-style dwell time in mind.

By pairing a timed walk-through story with a post-show festive village, Wundr and Live Venture Group are creating a model that serves both theatrical experience design and commercial event operation. For venues, producers and family attraction teams, the project offers a useful example of how Christmas programming can be structured to support attendance, secondary spend and repeat market visibility during a short, high-demand trading period.
