Why Climate Resilience Needs to Be on Every Visitor Attraction’s Agenda

This summer’s record-breaking temperatures have once again highlighted that climate change is no longer a future challenge, it is something our sector is experiencing today.

For the UK’s visitor attractions industry, changing weather patterns bring very real operational and commercial implications. From visitor comfort and changing travel behaviours to infrastructure resilience and long-term investment decisions, climate risk is becoming a strategic business issue that deserves our attention.

That is why Experience UK is pleased to highlight this timely initiative from our friends at blooloop.

On Thursday 16 July, blooloop will host a free online screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing, a compelling 50-minute film featuring leading UK scientists and experts who explore the realities of climate change, its implications for business and society, and, importantly, the opportunities that exist if we act collectively.

This is not intended to be a doom-and-gloom discussion. Instead, it is an opportunity to better understand the challenges ahead, hear from respected experts, and consider how our industry can build resilience while continuing to create world-class visitor experiences.

As the trade body representing businesses across the experience economy, Experience UK believes these conversations are increasingly important. Whether you operate an attraction, design experiences, supply technology or services, or invest in destinations and places, understanding the wider forces shaping our industry is essential.

We encourage members to take advantage of this free session and join what promises to be an informative and thought-provoking discussion.
