Universal Orlando is set to broaden its horizon by introducing two new cosmic-themed hotels, the Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort. Slated to open their doors next to the new Epic Universe theme park in early 2025, these hotels promise to offer guests an unparalleled experience, melding luxury with a journey through the cosmos. Co-owned and operated in partnership with Loews Hotels and brought to life by Universal Creative, these additions underscore Universal Orlando’s commitment to innovation and excellence in themed entertainment.
The Universal Stella Nova Resort, planned to open on January 21, 2025, is designed to capture the “infinite vastness of the universe.” This theme is reflected not only in the décor but also in the overall guest experience, which aims to immerse visitors in a setting reminiscent of a marvellous galaxy. The Terra Luna Resort, slated to open on February 25, 2025, will allow guests to “explore the unknown” with designs and experiences themed around uncharted planetary elements. Both hotels will collectively add 1,500 guest rooms to Universal Orlando’s accommodation offerings, significantly increasing the resort’s capacity to host visitors from around the globe.
Both hotels will feature unique, otherworldly-themed food and beverage outlets, enhancing the thematic experience. The Terra Luna Resort will host the Omega Cafe, Moonrise Bar, Moonrise Grill, and Luna Bar, each offering culinary delights in an environment that promises to transport guests to another world. Similarly, the Stella Nova Resort will be home to the Cosmos Cafe, Galaxy Bar, Galaxy Grill, and Nova Bar, providing stellar dining experiences that complement the cosmic theme.
The new hotels are part of a larger expansion that includes the Epic Universe theme park, expected to be a significant draw with its five themed lands: Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. With over 50 attractions, entertainment experiences, and numerous retail and food and beverage outlets, Epic Universe is set to redefine theme park entertainment. The proximity of the Stella Nova and Terra Luna resorts to the park will offer convenient access to these attractions, enhancing guest satisfaction and providing seamless, immersive experiences from hotel stay to theme park adventure.
The introduction of Stella Nova and Terra Luna Resorts is strategically timed with the opening of Epic Universe, allowing Universal Orlando to capitalise on the expected influx of visitors. This expansion is not just about adding beds; it’s about enhancing Universal’s brand as a leader in themed entertainment and providing guests with unique experiences that go beyond traditional theme park visits. By integrating the hotels so closely with the theme park, Universal is set to offer a cohesive, story-driven experience that caters to the fantasies and imaginations of its guests.
Universal Orlando’s expansion with the Stella Nova and Terra Luna Resorts represents a significant development in themed hospitality. Combining imaginative themes with luxurious amenities, these hotels are poised to become key players in Orlando’s tourism sector, drawing guests from across the globe. As Universal continues to unveil more details and the opening date approaches, the industry watches eagerly, anticipating the success of integrating cosmic wonder with world-class hospitality.
