The Ritz-Carlton And MERIT Beauty Partner On Luxury Hospitality Activations

The Ritz-Carlton has announced an exclusive collaboration with MERIT Beauty, marking the beauty brand’s first partnership in the hospitality sector.

Launched on 14 July, the limited-time programme brings MERIT products and services into select Ritz-Carlton properties across North America, including Toronto, Santa Barbara, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Naples, Los Angeles and New York, NoMad. The collaboration includes Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge activations, in-room beauty services, co-branded amenities and limited-edition travel kits.

For luxury hotel operators, brand experience teams and retail partners, the initiative shows how hospitality spaces can be used as premium discovery channels for beauty and lifestyle brands. Rather than relying solely on conventional retail or e-commerce, MERIT is entering high-value guest touchpoints within a hotel stay, while The Ritz-Carlton adds a new layer to its service proposition.

The partnership is designed around personalisation, convenience and product trial, connecting beauty with moments such as arrival, lounge use, room service and turndown.

Club Lounge Activations Create Product Discovery

A key part of the collaboration takes place in Ritz-Carlton Club Lounges, where selected properties will feature co-branded beauty carts with complimentary MERIT products. Items include Great Skin Serum, Great Skin Double Cleanse, Clean Volume Mascara and Flush Balm.

At some hotels, MERIT beauty educators will be present to offer guidance, creating a service-led product encounter rather than a passive sampling station. This approach is commercially relevant because it brings consultation, trial and brand storytelling into an environment already associated with premium service.

For hospitality operators, Club Lounges are increasingly valuable spaces for brand partnerships. They offer controlled access, high guest engagement and a setting suited to curated activations. For beauty brands, these lounges provide a targeted audience with time to engage and a strong association with travel, lifestyle and self-care.

The Ritz-Carlton’s leadership has positioned the partnership as an extension of its focus on personalised luxury, with MERIT’s minimal beauty approach aligning with the hotel group’s service standards.

In-Room Services And Limited-Edition Kits

The collaboration also extends into the guest room. Curated MERIT beauty bundles will be available through in-room dining at participating properties, housed in a custom pouch and designed around quick, streamlined use.

This model is notable for hotel commercial teams because it turns in-room dining infrastructure into a channel for non-food retail. It also creates an opportunity for incremental revenue without requiring guests to visit a spa, retail boutique or lobby counter.

Co-branded turndown amenities, including chocolates and skincare samples, add further product exposure during the stay. Participating properties will also serve a Minimalist Martini paired with a sample of MERIT’s Retrospect fragrance, linking food and beverage with beauty discovery.

A limited-edition MERIT travel kit is available in-room and online. The set includes Great Skin Serum, Great Skin Double Cleanse, Clean Volume Mascara and Flush Balm in Postmodern, presented in a co-branded pouch with an exclusive keychain.

Hospitality As A Beauty Retail Channel

MERIT’s move into hospitality reflects a wider shift in luxury brand partnerships. Hotels are no longer only accommodation providers. They are experience platforms where lifestyle, retail, wellness, dining and personal services can be integrated around guest behaviour.

For The Ritz-Carlton, the collaboration offers a way to add fresh value across selected properties without altering the core hotel operation. For MERIT, it creates a physical trial environment aligned with travel routines and premium service expectations.

The partnership also offers a useful model for other hotel and lifestyle brands. Strong collaborations work best when product use fits naturally into the stay, staff can support discovery and retail pathways are clear both on-property and online.

By linking lounges, rooms, dining, amenities and e-commerce, The Ritz-Carlton and MERIT Beauty are presenting a multi-touchpoint approach to hospitality retail that connects brand engagement with practical guest moments.
