Simworx has announced a new chapter for the business as it comes under common ownership with Intamin, one of the attractions industry’s most established ride system companies.
Founded in 2005, Simworx has built a strong position in immersive, media-based attractions, with more than 130 installations delivered worldwide. Its product portfolio includes dynamic motion-simulation rides, Pegasus Flying Theatres, Immersive Tunnels, and AGV Dark Rides, supported by a range of patented technologies.
The new structure brings Simworx into closer alignment with Intamin and ETF Ride Systems, creating a wider platform for product development, engineering collaboration and international project delivery. For Simworx, the move supports its next stage of growth while retaining the company’s existing specialist knowledge, customer relationships and West Midlands base.
Strengthening Delivery For Global Attractions
The agreement follows a period of strong commercial momentum for Simworx, with a significant order book and sales pipeline. As project scale and client expectations continue to grow across the global leisure and entertainment sectors, the company sought a partner with the resources, reputation and reach to support future expansion.
Simworx Attractions Limited has acquired the sales and support team of UK-based Simworx Limited, patents, trademarks, intellectual property, product range, assets, and engineering, under the new ownership structure.
Terry Monkton will continue as Chief Executive Officer, and the business will remain at its established headquarters in the West Midlands. This continuity is important for existing clients, suppliers and project partners, as it protects the experience and relationships that have shaped Simworx’s work for more than two decades.
For operators and developers, the move is expected to support stronger project delivery, deeper technical capability and broader international support. Media-based attractions often require close coordination between ride systems, show control, media production, scenic environments, safety systems and long-term service provision. Access to a wider technical network can help strengthen each of those areas.
Collaboration With Intamin And ETF Ride Systems
Simworx will continue to design and manufacture its own product range, while exploring closer collaboration with ETF Ride Systems, particularly across trackbound and trackless dark ride technologies.
ETF’s long-standing experience in dark ride systems creates a strong area of alignment with Simworx’s media-led attraction portfolio. The companies plan to share technical expertise and develop new dark ride technologies and concepts for customers worldwide.
For the visitor experience industry, this collaboration brings together complementary strengths. Simworx contributes media-based attraction expertise, motion simulation knowledge and product development experience. Intamin and ETF bring established ride engineering, global delivery infrastructure and deep sector relationships.
This type of combined capability is increasingly relevant as parks and attractions seek more complex ride experiences with reliable operation, strong storytelling potential and repeatable guest appeal.
A Growth Platform For Media-Based Attractions
Simworx’s leadership has positioned the partnership as a strategic step that will help the company deliver the next generation of immersive media attractions. The support and infrastructure accessible through Intamin and ETF were important factors in moving the business into this new phase.
For clients, the change offers the potential for greater confidence in project scale, technical development and after-sales support, while keeping the Simworx team and product identity in place.
The announcement also reflects wider trends in the attractions supply chain, where specialist companies are aligning with larger groups to increase resilience, expand global reach and support more ambitious project delivery.
For Simworx, the new ownership structure provides a stronger platform for growth while maintaining the creative and engineering focus that has defined its work. For the wider sector, it signals continued demand for media-based attractions that combine movement, story, technology and operational reliability.
