We are proud to share that Sandpit Creations has been appointed as the official decor partner for Camp Wildfire and Camp Kindling 2026, two of the UK’s most distinctive outdoor festival experiences.
Produced by Wildkind, Camp Wildfire is an adults’ summer camp, while Camp Kindling is its sister family festival. Both events take place in a heritage pine forest near Sevenoaks, Kent, creating a setting that combines outdoor activity, live performance, community and large-scale festival design.
As decor partner, our role will cover site dressing, maintenance of existing installations and a programme of new scenic builds for the 2026 events. This will include developing a new theme for the main stage, helping to define the visual identity of the site for returning audiences and first-time guests.
For Sandpit Creations, the appointment is a significant opportunity to apply our design, fabrication and scenic production experience across an entire outdoor festival environment.
Designing Across A Full Festival Site
Camp Wildfire and Camp Kindling are built around highly detailed environments. The site must work by day as an activity-led camp and by night as a performance and social space. That creates a complex creative and operational brief.
Our work will focus on helping the whole site feel consistent, purposeful and complete. This means thinking beyond individual installations. Entrances, stages, activity areas, pathways, gathering spaces and existing scenic elements all need to sit within the same visual world.
That approach is central to our work at Sandpit Creations. Our team works across immersive venue builds, scenic fabrication, creative technology and bespoke prop making. For Camp Wildfire, those skills will be applied at site-wide scale, with the added complexity of an outdoor woodland setting.
Outdoor festival work brings its own requirements. Materials, durability, access, weather, installation time, audience flow and safe operation all need to be considered from the start. The aim is to create scenic environments that feel rich and imaginative while remaining practical for a live event site.
Partnership With A Strong Festival Community
Camp Wildfire hosts around 3,500 guests across consecutive weekends each summer. Its programme includes more than 100 daytime activities and 50 night-time performances, giving the site a varied rhythm across each event day.
That breadth of programming makes decor and scenic design especially important. The environment must support many different moods, from daytime activity and exploration to evening performance and communal gathering.
The event has developed a loyal audience because of the strength of its atmosphere and the way it invites people into a setting outside everyday life. As decor partner, our responsibility is to support that expectation across every part of the site we touch.
We see this as the kind of brief that suits our team well. It requires detailed making, creative problem-solving, practical delivery and a strong understanding of how people move through shared spaces.

The appointment also reflects the growing importance of scenic identity within festivals, outdoor attractions and live experiences. Audiences increasingly expect event environments to feel coherent, memorable and carefully considered, not simply functional.
