ROARR!, the dinosaur-themed attraction near Norwich, is preparing to open a new ride in July following a £250,000 investment in its on-site attraction mix.
The new Fossil Falls experience will be a 105-metre tubing slide, making it the longest ride at the park. The attraction will feature a raised launch platform, a 12-metre tunnel, a winding descent and a brake ramp, with guests riding in circular tubing rings.
Dutch ride specialist Swedice is currently working on site at Lenwade to deliver the new installation. Once open, Fossil Falls will join ROARR!’s existing portfolio of around 25 attractions, which includes rides, live entertainment, play areas, a racetrack, crazy golf, water play and high ropes activities.
For operators in the family entertainment and themed attraction sectors, the investment highlights the role of mid-scale ride additions in refreshing established venues. Rather than relying solely on major capital projects, attractions can use targeted additions to strengthen capacity, improve dwell time and support repeat visitation.
Adding Capacity To A Family-Focused Attraction
ROARR! is already positioned as a high-volume family destination, with a broad offer built around dinosaurs, active play and accessible entertainment. Fossil Falls adds a new physical ride experience to the park, with the length of the slide and tunnel feature giving the attraction a clear operational identity.
For themed attraction operators, tubing slides can offer several practical benefits. They provide a visible, high-throughput activity, require no complex ride vehicle systems and can be integrated into outdoor attraction zones. Their appeal across age groups can also support family participation, which is especially important for parks built around shared day-out activity.
The new ride also gives ROARR! a strong seasonal marketing message without changing the park’s wider brand positioning. For regional attractions, this type of addition can help maintain public attention during peak trading periods and provide fresh content for annual pass holders, local audiences and group organisers.
Supplier Opportunities And Operational Considerations
The Fossil Falls project points to continued demand for specialist suppliers in the family attractions market, particularly those able to deliver durable, outdoor ride infrastructure suited to high visitor volumes.
Projects of this kind require coordination across design, groundworks, safety planning, surfacing, queue management, signage, theming, staff training and maintenance procedures. For park operators, the visitor impact depends not only on the ride itself, but also on how the installation fits into wider site circulation, capacity planning and operational staffing.
The £250,000 investment also reflects the importance of incremental capital spending in keeping regional attractions competitive. In a market where families compare value across theme parks, farms, museums, play centres and leisure venues, regular product development can be central to long-term performance.
A Wider Signal For The UK Family Attractions Market
ROARR!’s latest investment comes at a time when operators are seeking practical ways to broaden their offer while managing capital risk. Fossil Falls shows how a single ride addition can support brand visibility, operational capacity and perceived value within an existing attraction framework.
For the wider visitor experience sector, the project offers a useful example of product renewal at a specialist family park. By investing in a ride that matches its audience profile and existing themed environment, ROARR! is strengthening its position within the regional attractions market while giving suppliers another example of continued confidence in family-led leisure development.
