An official open date has finally been set for a highly anticipated theme park in Asia.
Ever since its conception in 2015, the spotlight has been on the world’s first SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, which will immerse guests at Universal Studios Japan into the fantasy and legendary lives of some of the world’s most iconic Nintendo characters – including Super Mario, Princess Peach and Yoshi.
After three years of construction and a delay imposed through COVID 19, fans are finally been welcomed to the utopian world with Universal announcing today (November 30) the WORLD will be opening February 4 2021.
The attraction will include an abundance of immersive, multi-sensory and next-generation experiences as they delve deeper into the legendary world of Nintendo.

Selling an eyewatering 150 million units worldwide, Super Mario is arguably the most famous game protagonist in the world – with his exhilarating misadventures taking centre stage at the attraction.
The first Super Mario ride will be housed in Koopa’s castle, which promises the ultimate Nintendo experience. Here guests will put on a headset and race through the classic courses of Mario Kart, while being whisked into the legendary universe of Mushroom Kingdom along the way.

Koopa’s Challenge is another ride featured in the WORLD, which using state-of-the-art technology, guests will be able to play against other visitor groups as they take part in an exhilarating race with Mario and Princess Peach, coming across countless enticing hurdles throughout the course.
The park also includes Yoshi’s Adventure. Aimed at junior Nintendo fans, the ride embarks children and their families on the ultimate treasure hunting adventure to help Captain Toad find the Golden Egg.

Ground-breaking multi-sensory rides aren’t the only offering at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, a cutting-edge Power Up Band has also been designed for guests at the complex – ensuring guests are fully immersed into Nintendo even when they’re not boarding the attractions.
By wearing the Power Up Band, visitors will be able to collection virtual coins as they navigate around the park and using real-time software, can continuously check their score against other guests.
The unveiling of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD coincides with the park’s epic 20-year anniversary, with a full year of celebrations expected in 2021.
Ahead of the Nintendo launch, Universal Studios Japan teased guests by opening the Mario themed café and store in October this year.
