Mascots Inc brings character ideas to life for audiences worldwide

Mascots Inc will showcase British character design, engineering and manufacturing at IAAPA Expo Europe as part of Experience UK at the UK Pavilion, stand S837. The specialist company creates bespoke mascots and performance-ready character costumes for attractions, entertainment properties, brands and international events.

Every project begins with a character idea, but successful delivery requires much more than appearance. Mascots Inc considers movement, performer comfort, ventilation, visibility, durability and the pressures of repeated live use. By combining creative development with specialist fabrication and engineering, the team turns two-dimensional concepts and intellectual property into physical characters audiences can meet, photograph and remember.

Its portfolio includes work for Hasbro, FIFA, Expo 2020 Dubai, SEVEN, Spacetoon, MGA Entertainment and Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot. Capabilities extend beyond conventional costumes into animatronics, promotional characters and merchandise. Sister company Character Wonderland adds ongoing support through costume care and repairs, performer recruitment and event services, allowing clients to manage the full journey from concept to live activation.

Characters can make a brand or story feel present in a way few other assets can. For attractions, they create moments of direct interaction; for IP owners, they provide a highly visible bridge between narrative and audience. Meet founders Vanessa and Gary Howe through Experience UK at the UK Pavilion, stand S837, to discuss original characters, licensed properties and the practical craft required to bring them successfully into live environments.

For venues, the work continues after a character’s first appearance. Costumes need planned care, trained performers and operational guidance if every interaction is to remain safe and consistent. The link with Character Wonderland means the creative asset can be supported as a living part of the guest experience rather than a one-off fabrication.
