Mack Rides set to deliver innovative Tomorrowland coaster at leading Belgium theme park

A leading Belgium theme park has teamed up with a world-renowned festival to deliver the first extreme spinning coaster in Europe.

Set to be housed in an expansion of Plopsaland De Panne, The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland will be the only second attraction of its kind due to its unique array of features. Thrill seekers will enjoy exhilarating speeds of 90 kilometres per hour twice on free-rotating carts, giving visitors a unique experience every time they ride.

Other features include a track length of one kilometre (which guests enjoy riding five times) and catapults to 30 metres above the ground, immersing visitors into panoramic views of the theme park’s surroundings.

The Ride to Happiness will be located in its own area of Plopsaland De Panne’s expansion

Commenting on the new ride, Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa Group said: “The coaster can be seen from far up the motorway and changes the entire skyline of the park, creating a whole new dimension.”

Inspired by globally-acclaimed music festival Tomorrowland, the ride will also feature an exclusive sound-track based on Hans Zimmer’s iconic Tomorrowland Hymn, which is guaranteed to enhance the booms and sensational thrills throughout the ride.

World-leading rollercoaster specialists Mack Rides will complete the technical design, engineering and construction of the ground-breaking spinning coaster, with Tomorrowland’s creative team and the Plopsa Group leading the thematization.

Tomorrowland and the Plopsa Group’s unique partnership is part of a wider initiative to tap into ambitious theme park projects throughout Europe, with the extreme spinning coaster being their first venture.

Steve also added: “Through this collaboration, we will both be able to entertain an even larger audience, which will only make each other stronger.”

Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland is scheduled to open Summer 2021.
