Lightroom To Host AI-Led Courtroom Experience GAWD V. The People

Lightroom in King’s Cross will host the world public premiere of GAWD v. The People, an interactive immersive production created by creative technology studio nilor.

Opening on 17 September 2026, the show places visitors inside a fictional courtroom in which an AI judge assesses humanity’s future. The production has already gained sector recognition through its selection for the Immersive Competition at Cannes 2026, with the Lightroom run marking its first presentation outside the festival circuit.

For producers, venue operators and experience designers, the project is notable because it treats artificial intelligence as a live performance system rather than a backstage production tool. The format combines theatrical structure, cinematic world-building, large-scale projection, live audience input and responsive AI characters, creating a show that changes from one performance to the next.

Lightroom Provides Large-Scale Spatial Infrastructure

GAWD v. The People will use Lightroom’s 11-metre-high projected walls and open floor to create the setting for the courtroom. The venue’s technical infrastructure is central to the format, allowing the production to surround audiences with visual content while leaving space for live participation and movement.

The show runs for around one hour and is scheduled on selected dates in September 2026. Its age guidance is 16 , reflecting the production’s focus on debate, technology, agency and the social questions raised by machine-led decision-making.

For B2B audiences, Lightroom’s role is important. The venue has been developed for large-format digital productions, and this project shows how such spaces can support work that sits between theatre, installation, film and real-time technology. It also demonstrates how flexible immersive venues can programme experimental formats without relying on fixed scenic builds or conventional stage layouts.

Audience Participation Shapes Each Performance

The production is structured as an unscripted tribunal. GAWD, the AI judge, guides the proceedings while several AI characters present arguments, respond to testimony and influence the direction of the case.

Three audience members may be invited to take the stand during each performance. Their contributions, along with other live interactions, shape the AI system’s responses and affect the final judgement. The result is a variable narrative model, with each performance producing a different sequence of exchanges and outcomes.

This approach has clear relevance for the wider visitor experience market. It points to a future in which attractions can use agentic technology to deliver responsive story systems, adaptive characters and participatory formats at scale. Rather than offering a fixed script, the production uses rules, roles and real-time input to generate a live event that remains guided but unpredictable.

Sector Value Beyond The Technology

GAWD v. The People is also significant because its subject matter reflects the technology used to deliver it. The show asks audiences to consider trust, control, sustainability, collective responsibility and the authority people give to digital systems.

This alignment between theme and mechanism gives the production a stronger foundation than a simple AI demonstration. For studios and cultural venues, it offers a useful model for responsible technology-led programming, where the creative concept and the operating system are closely connected.

The event page also states that participant contributions are used in the context of the show and are not used to train AI models. For operators developing interactive AI experiences, clear data practice will be central to audience trust, venue risk management and future commercial adoption.

As AI becomes a larger part of live entertainment and cultural programming, GAWD v. The People will be watched as an early example of how responsive systems can support performance, participation and debate within a ticketed immersive format.
