LEGOLAND Windsor announces new MYTHICA land will open in 2021

A leading British theme park has unveiled plans to launch a new thrilling zone in the next few months.

LEGOLAND Windsor Resort announced LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures will be a new centrepiece of the Merlin-owned experience – featuring a fun-filled array of attractions, rides and activities which will see children’s imaginations run wild like never before.

The major theme park operator has teased the new land will include a ride which has never been seen before in the UK, as well plenty of opportunities to see the iconic LEGO characters and mythical creatures come to life to create a truly bespoke, immersive experience.

Costing multi-million pounds (an exact figure hasn’t been revealed) LEGO MYTHICA is set to be the single biggest investment conducted by the theme park since opening in 1996 and one that the park has impeccably designed to maximise the new land’s full potential.

Designed by kids, for kids

Over the course of a year, the LEGOLAND Windsor team has carefully worked in collaboration with Kids Industries, in which they have engaged with seven to 11 year olds and their parents to discuss and test new concepts on their target audience.

The partnership allowed families to influence the offerings at the new experiences, as well as voicing their opinions on characters before the model for LEGO MYTHICA was finalised.

Commenting on the exciting unveiling of the new land Thomas Jellum, Divisional Director at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort said: “What better way to celebrate our 25th birthday than by unveiling a completely unique experience like nothing else we have launched at the Resort since we opened.

“At the heart of LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures will be epic rides, including a UK first, and breath-taking mythical creatures designed to capture children’s imaginations and inspire them to build and play.”

Construction for the new land is now underway, before opening to the public in Spring 2021. An exact open date is yet to be revealed.
