Cutting-edge technology specialists LCI Productions has installed a UK first on popular high street.
Boscombe high street in East Bournemouth has become home to the UK’s first permanently installed outdoor 3D projection mapped show, seamlessly created by LCI Productions.
The showcase is located opposite the Sovereign Shopping Centre and will take place daily until 8pm. The spectacular is set to be updated throughout the year to encourage returning visitors.
LCI Productions’ project mapping showcase on Boscombe high street The 18 x 11 metre show was seamlessly designed and delivered by LCI’s talented team. A Digital Projection M-Vision 230000-WU DPL projector was installed in an upstairs space to ensure the mapping doesn’t get knocked out of alignment, it also secures it from changeable weather conditions.
A Show Control Computer and BrightSign Media Player ensure the content runs smoothly every evening, with remote dial in capability for the LCI team. Eight outdoor speakers surround the projection mapped canvas to create a full multisensory experience for guests.
The idea for the projection mapping was birthed through Bournemouth Coastal BID and Bournemouth Towns Fund mission to increase the footfall and dwell time in the seaside town during the cooler seasons.

“This project is an example of retailtainment at its finest! We have created a guest experience that is akin with what you would expect to experience at a theme park with the combination of 3D visuals and surround audio immersing the audience into the scene.
“This is a fantastic initiative to encourage people to visit their local high street and the evolving show experience will keep them returning time and time again.”
