L’Occitane Travel Retail has partnered with Extime JCDecaux Airport, Extime Duty Free Paris and Extime Lounge on a major anniversary activation across Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports.
The campaign marks 50 years of Maison L’Occitane en Provence and is live until 30 June, with potential for an extension. Titled Extime Immersive Journey, the activation uses airport retail, media, lounge environments and digital channels to present the brand’s Provençal identity across the passenger journey.
A Travel Retail Campaign Built Around Senses
The main activation is located in Terminal 1 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, where a central podium has been designed as an open walk-through environment.
The experience focuses on key L’Occitane ingredients, including Almond, Shea, Immortelle, Verbena and Lavender. Through scent, texture, visual design and guided activity, the space introduces passengers to the brand’s heritage and product rituals in a format suited to high-traffic travel retail.
For airport commercial teams and retail experience specialists, the project demonstrates how anniversary campaigns can move beyond static displays. The format creates a clear brand stage while still supporting product discovery and conversion.
Airport-Wide Visibility And Retail Integration
The campaign extends beyond the podium into the wider airport ecosystem. Product tables, branded fixtures, personalised tills and cash desk displays have been placed across key retail locations.
More than 130 digital screens support the campaign across airport retail and lounge areas. Large-format lightboxes in CDG Terminal 1 and Terminal 2E also give the brand strong visual presence during a busy travel period.
QR codes at till points connect passengers back to digital elements of the campaign, including a shorter guided audio experience. This creates continuity between physical retail interaction and post-visit engagement.
Lounge Activation And Multi-Channel Reach
Extime Lounge activity across three terminals adds another layer to the campaign. Sampling and the placement of Lavande Blanche hospitality products in 35 bathrooms carry the brand into rest and refreshment spaces.
The activation is also supported by extime.com, homepage placement, targeted newsletters and messaging to the Extime Rewards network. This multi-channel structure gives the campaign broader reach while keeping the airport environment as the central experience platform.
For brands, the project highlights the value of using travel retail as a media-rich setting. Airports offer strong dwell time, international visibility and multiple touchpoints, making them effective locations for premium storytelling and product trial.
Brand Heritage As Commercial Strategy
L’Occitane’s anniversary theme centres on its long connection to Provence, nature and people. In this campaign, that positioning is translated into a structured retail journey combining sensory participation, product exploration and hospitality-led moments.
For the wider visitor experience sector, the activation shows how retail, wellness, scenography and digital media can be brought together within a complex transport environment.
It also demonstrates the importance of partnership between brand owner, duty free operator, media partner and lounge operator. By coordinating physical space, content, sampling and digital communication, L’Occitane and Extime have created a campaign that supports brand awareness, engagement and commercial performance in one of Europe’s busiest airport markets.
