Katapult, the Derbyshire-based international themed attraction design company, is preparing for a high-profile presence at the IAAPA Europe Expo 2024. With a series of major global projects under their belt and a growing team of industry experts, the company is well-positioned to showcase its world-class design capabilities.
Over the past year, Katapult has taken on projects spanning theme parks, themed hotel resorts, indoor experiences, and heritage destinations. One of their most exciting collaborations is with CloudCo Entertainment to create a Care Bears™ family entertainment center. This play cafe experience targets the booming “tweens” market, offering colorful, cute, and themed zones where guests can enjoy the iconic Care Bears brand in an interactive and immersive setting.
Katapult is also working on a historically significant World War II experience in Gibraltar’s famous tunnels. The new spy academy, themed bar, and retail spaces, along with refreshed branding and interpretation areas, are part of an ongoing effort to bring new life and storytelling to the tunnels, which played a crucial role in British resistance during the war.
In addition, Katapult’s collaboration with Zooatronic reflects their commitment to environmental sustainability. Zooatronic, the winner of Katapult’s Helping Hands Initiative, aims to create an immersive, digital zoo experience that connects visitors with lifelike wildlife simulations, offering a captivating experience without the need for real animals in captivity.
Katapult’s commitment to positive social and environmental impact has also earned them the title of the world’s first B Corp Certified themed attraction design company. They continue to support charities, trusts, and community groups through their expertise, offering cutting-edge design and consulting services.
The company’s growth has been remarkable, with eight new hires strengthening their design and creative production teams. Key members of the team, including 3D design experts Jack Pedleham and Amelia Maresca, along with project producers Ben Millerman and James Lawbuary, will be at IAAPA Europe 2024 to share insights and showcase Katapult’s latest work.
Co-Founders Dawn Foote and Phil Higgins, along with their delegation, will also be on-hand to announce an exciting new project collaboration at the Experience UK booth, signaling another major milestone in their journey as a leader in the themed attractions industry.
