Acclaimed themed attraction specialists Katapult has secured their latest project in Ireland.
Appointed as designers for the Portmagee Whiskey Experience and Seine Boat Visitor Centre in County Kerry, Katapult are set to design immersive experiences of how much-loved whiskey is made, as well as attractions encapsulating life in Portmagee.
A 360-degree interactive cinema has also been announced as the centrepiece, which will immerse guests into the captivating livelihoods on the cusp of the Atlantic Ocean.
Visitors are promised to get to chance to sample award-winning whiskey throughout the experience, as well as indulging in the region’s legendary tales of smugglers and fishermen.
And Katapult are expected to be super busy over the next few months. As well as drafting the overall concept design and theming, the experience experts are also developing the narrative and executive production throughout the whole process.
The development is being supported by Fáilte Ireland’s The Wild Atlantic Way initiative, which is working on boosting Western Ireland on the international tourism stage.
Commenting on the exciting project, Phil Higgins, Chief Creative Officer, at Katapult said: “We’re really excited to have started work on this new attraction for Portmagee. The combination of the high-tech experiences and fascinating stories that we’re building into the narrative, will make this a must-visit destination.”
The experience is set to be rolled out to the public in stages, with the first phase set to open Summer 2021.
In other news, Katapult has launched a new interactive queue experience at Tayto Park.
