Istanbul is all ready to host the 24th Edition of the East Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition. The exhibition is marked as one of the top 4 all over the globe and will go on from the 30th of January to the 2nd of February 2020.
The exhibition is being hosted under the banner of the Hyve Group, the Turkish Tourism Investors Association, and the Turkish Hoteliers Federation. All hosts expect the exhibition to attract thousands of tourism operators, cruise operators, airlines, hotels and other organisations from the tourism industry across the globe.
The expo steps up the bar for this year, as the theme is expected to be focused around the digitisation of marketing and customer services within this sector. The tourism industry is at a focal point for a digital revolution, and this year’s expo is just an indication of how prepared brands are. The exhibition will give industry stakeholders a chance to experience the effective use of VR and to discuss the trends currently streamlining the tourism industry.
The virtual exhibition titled, “Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass” is supposed to be the highlight of this virtual expo. The virtual exhibition will be managed by the Louvre Museum. This highlight will allow visitors to get an upfront personal experience with the most famous painting of this world. Visitors will be able to observe the textures and the fine details at play within this marvel by Da Vinci.
The important takeaway behind the addition of this Mona Lisa portrait is to tell visitors just how VR technology can be successfully incorporated to help galleries and museums reach wider audiences. Museums and galleries play an important role in promoting tourism within a region, which is why the focus would be on how the visitor experience can be enhanced.
The expo will also offer visitors an exclusive chance to get a virtual tour of Gobeklitepe. Gobeklitepe is an archaeological site located within modern-day Sanhurfa and is one of the grandest and oldest temples to be revered in today’s world. Visitors will have a chance to enjoy sights and sounds from the ancient site, while speakers will talk about the importance of including local guides within the tourism industry.
The VR exhibition will also include a virtual Everest climb. Visitors will be able to climb atop the world’s tallest peak as part of their ventures. The program will take people to base camp and all the way top to the summit to give them a virtual feel of what the feat actually feels like.
The four day fair will see revolutionary ideas being discussed by industry experts. The expo is expected to become bigger and better this year. Last year saw the expo being attended by some 5,620 participating companies and over 57,470 visitors. The numbers are expected to be the same, if not more, during this edition in the wondrous city of Istanbul.
