Futuroscope Reveals Sci-Fi-Themed Hotel Planned for 2028

French theme park Futuroscope has revealed new details about its fourth hotel, a four-star, science fiction-themed property scheduled to open in 2028 as the destination continues its transition into a multi-day resort.

The hotel is currently under construction and will add another 240 rooms to Futuroscope’s accommodation portfolio. Alongside its sci-fi-inspired design, the property will include a restaurant, bar and dedicated spa area, providing guests with additional hospitality and wellness facilities during their stay.

Futuroscope is designing the hotel as an attraction in its own right, with architecture and theming intended to immerse visitors in a fictional universe from the moment they arrive.

Olivier Héral, creative director at Futuroscope, described the project as a fully immersive hotel where the architecture, scenic elements and guest services work together to tell a story.

The development will also improve connections between Futuroscope’s accommodation and attractions. A new pedestrian bridge will directly connect the hotel with Aquascope, the destination’s water park.

New Hotel to Include Major Business Facilities

Aside from leisure travelers, the new property is also being developed to serve Futuroscope’s business and events market.

A dedicated business centre will accommodate up to 350 people. Facilities will include a 200-seat amphitheatre and six breakout rooms, allowing the property to host meetings, conferences and other professional events alongside its leisure offering.

The project will become Futuroscope’s fourth hotel and follows the launch of two themed accommodation concepts, Station Cosmos and Ecolodgee, as part of the destination’s recent investment program.

The expansion supports the strategy to encourage visitors to spend more time at Futuroscope by combining attractions with accommodation, dining, and other entertainment experiences.

Futuroscope has invested significantly in its resort offering in recent years. Major additions have included the Aquascope water park and attractions such as Chasseurs de Tornades, Objectif Mars and Mission Bermudes. The destination has also introduced Space Loop, an experiential restaurant that adds another themed element to the guest experience.

Futuroscope Prepares for 40th Anniversary

Before the new hotel opens, Futuroscope will celebrate its 40th anniversary during the 2027 season with a series of new shows, experiences and special additions.

Plans include a new IMAX production at the Kinemax theatre and the introduction of a film festival. Visitors will also be able to experience an upside-down house inspired by 1987, the year Futuroscope first opened. The attraction will feature 1980s memorabilia and will be part of the park’s anniversary celebrations.

An outdoor exhibition will explore technological innovations, while special food and beverage offerings will be introduced across the park to mark the milestone.

Futuroscope CEO Rodolphe Bouin said the new lineup builds on the destination’s recent development strategy, which is focused on establishing Futuroscope as a complete resort where visitors come for both distinctive attractions and opportunities to spend time together.

Futuroscope Xperiences now includes two parks as well as a growing range of shows, entertainment, hotels and dining options.

The planned 2028 hotel will further expand that offering, combining science fiction theming with accommodation, wellness, dining and business facilities.
