Visitors will be able to the different worlds through four VR water experiences.  These include:

  • Ocean DVR: Exhilarating thrills are promised as users drift dive through the most amazing parts in the ocean while passing underwater wrecks, coves and submarines
  • Sky DVR: Guests will effortlessly glide down the slope of a mountain, while flying over breath-taking waterfalls and incredible canyons
  • Space DIVR: Visitors will be catapulted from Earth as they explore the abandoned space station high in the sky

Leander de Wit, General Manager at Yas Waterworld said: “At Yas Waterworld there are always new experiences to discover, and exciting adventures to be lived. We are excited to introduce this first-of-its-kind adventure in the UAE that is guaranteed to deliver unforgettable guest experiences.

“We strive to cater each experience to fit our guests’ interests and look forward to welcoming waterpark fans to try out the all-new Underwater VR Experience.”

Earning its place as a global tourism destination

Yas Waterworld is based on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, which continues to develop its tourism landscape faster than most other destinations in the world.

In the last 10 years The Yas Marina Circuit (which hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix), Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterland have launched here which helped to attract 28 million visitors to the six-kilometre island in 2019. With more amazing projects in the pipeline, The Arabian Travel Market hopes Yas Island’s visitor numbers to reach an ambitious 48 million by 2025.

Elsewhere, a new Jurassic World rollercoaster has been announced at Universal Orlando Resort.
