We are super thrilled to have Event Communications join us at the Experience UK pavilion at the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo, 2021.
Established 35 years ago, Event is an internationally acclaimed experience design agency which has collaborated with multiple world class museums to deliver large-scale exhibitions, spaces and experiences across the globe.
Event has already successfully tapped into the Gulf Region’s experience sector, having recently developed a new national museum in Oman and working on one of Saudi Arabia’s leading science facilities. Reports show Saudi Arabia’s experience sector to be worth an eyewatering $1.17 billion by 2030, with Event keen to further strengthen their position within the impressively flourishing market.
To gain a perspective of Event’s presence at Saudi Arabia’s premier amusement and attractions expo we spoke to Director of Strategy Jim Broughton…
Jim Broughton, Director of Strategy at Event
To begin, we ask Jim why Saudi Arabia is a target market for Event:
“KSA is the most exciting place in the world right now for the creation of visitor experiences. So much is happening, on such an ambitious scale and with such high aspirations of quality, that we cannot help but be energised by it.
“From our previous work in the Kingdom, we’ve learned something of its extraordinary wealth of landscapes and heritage sites, and we’ve been privileged to be receive the characteristic warm welcome that is so much part of Saudi culture.
“The fact that KSA is now making such great plans to invest in society and to open its arms to the world is incredible.”
Jim shares what delegates can learn from Event exhibiting:
“We’re coming to SEA 2021 to showcase our skills in planning, designing and delivering world-class visitor attractions and cultural destinations.
“We’ve recently completed some really exciting projects and this is our chance to reveal them to our industry peers and to tell the inside story of how we take brand new attractions from first idea to final realisation.”
Jim explains the wealth of expertise Event can bring to the Gulf Region:
“We’re fairly unique in our industry in that we are especially geared around delivering in big project environments. Although the core of our business is experience design, we also encompass disciplines such as masterplanning, content development and curation, 2D design, digital media direction and project management.
“Having a comprehensive and integrated offer delivered by a single team makes us extremely efficient and we can mobilise very quickly. We’ve been working in the Gulf region since the mid-1980s – and have delivered projects from museums to expos to exhibitions to brand centres.
“We’ve worked in all of the Gulf nations, often in partnership with some of the world’s most renowned architects – so we think we bring a reassuring pedigree too.”
To end, Jim Broughton talks Event’s goals from attending the Expo, which go far beyond securing company wins:
“As with any big industry convention, we’re hoping that attending SEA 2021 will be valuable for us on a few levels. Raising our profile is always important, but much more than that we are seeking to build relationships and networks.
“The international service we provide is always reliant on partners in-country, no matter where in the world we work – and this means we are looking for advisors, advocates and service providers as much as we are hoping to find future clients.
“Last, but not least, we are coming to learn – about opportunities, about the drivers behind new initiatives, about new trends in our sector, and of course about new sources of ideas and inspiration.”
SEA 2021 will take place in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh between September 7 -9, 2021. Register for your tickets here.
