Early Artist Impressions Show Glimpse of London Resort’s Hotel and Shopping Zone

New images have been released, depicting how the London Resort’s new hotel and shopping zone may look upon completion. The images reveal a large walkway, surrounded by hotels with up to 3,500 rooms across the park.

The walkway, which will be known as “The Highstreet”, will also be home to several shops and restaurants, giving visitors a more varied theme park experience than they are used to in the UK. Visitors will enter the park through a ‘Grand Plaza’, before they begin their journey through “The Studios,” a gritty warehouse district based on several blockbuster films.

The resort will be the biggest theme park development in Europe, since the construction of Disneyland Paris. The park will eventually cover 535 acres of land at the former cement works in Swanscombe, Kent, making it three times larger than any other park in the UK. It will eventually be turned into a two-park resort, with the first park expected to open in 2024, followed by the second in 2029.

The first park is made up of six sections, giving guests the opportunity to explore enchanted woods, immerse themselves in a realm of swords and sorcery in “The Kingdom”, and look into the future by visiting a 23rd-century “Starport.” For now, though, around 70 per cent of the park is undercover, to cope with the changing weather conditions.

The park is now asking the public to have their say. The London Resort has requested that members of the public give their opinion on the development. Until September 21, people are encouraged to offer their own opinions in a public consultation, with a number of online Q&A sessions and webinars taking place over a seven-week period.
