Clockwork Dog, a creative technology company specializing in show control solutions for immersive attractions, has unveiled the custom-built system behind The Traitors Live immersive experience in London’s Covent Garden.
Using its proprietary COGS platform, Clockwork Dog developed a comprehensive show control system that underpins the actor-led, interactive format of the live version of the hit television series. The technology enables hosts to dynamically pace the experience in real-time, responding to audience participation while ensuring narrative cohesion.
At the heart of the system are actor-operated tablets, which allow hosts to manage player roles, game states, lighting, sound, and video cues. The integration extends to the physical set, with hardware embedded into round tables for secret voting and puzzle-solving through tactile objects. These instant, trackable interactions create a seamless blend of digital and physical gameplay.
The COGS platform also supports large-scale operational management. It oversees multiple game rooms simultaneously, coordinates player movements between spaces, and integrates with venue logistics — from triggering drink deliveries to enabling technical checks while live sessions are underway. Post-show features capture player data for leaderboards and connect to the official website, with future plans for prize draws and extended engagement.
“The system we built for The Traitors was designed to be incredibly flexible — able to handle the many different scenarios and edge cases that come with a live, unique show every time,” explained Sam Lee, Technical Solutions Engineer at Clockwork Dog.
