Chuck E. Cheese has partnered with asmodee to bring Spot It!, also known globally as Dobble, into more than 500 fun centres across the United States and Canada.
The summer programme runs from June to September 2026 and effectively becomes the biggest location-based entertainment activation for the card game yet. For family entertainment operators, licensors and brand experience teams, the collaboration shows how tabletop IP can be expanded into venue-based play through media, movement and repeat engagement.
Turning Tabletop Gameplay Into Venue Content
Spot It! is built around fast visual matching, with players identifying the shared symbol between two cards. Chuck E. Cheese is adapting that core mechanic for its in-location media network, with co-branded speed round segments shown across more than 3,000 venue screens.
This gives the game a scalable format that can run across many sites at once, while keeping the interaction simple enough for mixed-age groups. For operators, the approach demonstrates the value of IP that can be translated into short, recognisable and high-frequency content.
The activation also includes a Spot It! themed interactive dance floor, turning the matching game into a physical group activity. This adds movement and spectacle to the campaign while making use of existing venue infrastructure.
Extending Engagement Beyond The Visit
The programme includes activity sheets with bonus e-tickets, interactive social games, product sampling and a national sweepstake in September.
For B2B audiences, the structure is notable because it connects several commercial goals within one campaign. It supports dwell time in venue, encourages return visits, introduces product trial and extends brand visibility across social channels.
By using both physical and digital touchpoints, Chuck E. Cheese and asmodee are creating an activation that works before, during and after a family visit. This type of layered campaign can offer stronger measurement opportunities for venue operators and licensing partners.
Media Networks As Brand Activation Platforms
The partnership also highlights the growing role of in-venue media networks within family entertainment centres.
Chuck E. Cheese welcomes more than 40 million guests annually, with average visits lasting around 1.5 to 2 hours. Its CEC Media Network gives licensors access to a focused family audience in a setting designed for play.
For attractions, leisure venues and entertainment operators, this points to a wider opportunity. Owned screen networks, interactive floors, loyalty mechanics and social extensions can create new partnership inventory without requiring full-scale attraction redevelopment.
Lessons For Family Entertainment Operators
The Spot It! campaign shows how established brands can move across formats when the core play pattern is easy to understand and quick to repeat.
For IP owners, it offers a route from tabletop or home play into location-based entertainment. For venue operators, it provides seasonal programming that can refresh the guest experience while supporting partnerships and sponsorship value.
As family entertainment centres look for new ways to increase repeat visitation and commercial relevance, collaborations of this type may become increasingly important. Chuck E. Cheese and asmodee’s programme demonstrates how recognisable IP, media infrastructure and active play can be combined into a scalable, multi-site experience.
