Peaky Blinders Underworld To Bring Live IP Experience To London Bridge

Peaky Blinders Underworld is set to open near London Bridge in August 2026, creating a large-scale live attraction based on the award-winning British crime drama series.

The project is being delivered by KMJ Entertainment in partnership with Banijay Rights, the global distribution division of Banijay Entertainment. Set within historic railway arches close to London Bridge Station, the production will convert Arches London Bridge into a themed entertainment destination built around the world of Thomas Shelby and the Shelby family syndicate.

For operators, IP owners and experience producers, the attraction highlights the continuing strength of screen-based intellectual property in location-based entertainment. Rather than relying on passive exhibition content, the format combines themed hospitality, actor-led performance, interactive gameplay, set-based exploration and retail into a single commercial model.

The timing is also notable. Two further six-episode seasons of Peaky Blinders are expected in 2027 and 2028, produced by Banijay UK labels Kudos and Garrison Drama for the BBC and Netflix. The London attraction therefore arrives ahead of renewed screen activity, giving the rights holder and operator a physical platform for audience engagement before the next phase of the franchise.

The Garrison Tavern As An Access Point

The experience will begin with The Garrison Tavern, a recreated post-First World War pub inspired by the series’ most recognisable social setting. Unlike the ticketed attraction behind it, the tavern will be open without an entry charge, giving the development a street-facing hospitality element.

For venue operators, this structure is commercially useful. A public-facing food, drink and entertainment offer can create regular footfall, generate spend outside timed ticket sessions and act as a marketing gateway into the paid experience.

The Garrison Tavern will include live music, drinks, light food and a dedicated events space. The wider programme is expected to include late-night performances, themed activity and music events, allowing the venue to operate beyond the core attraction schedule.

This layered model reflects a wider move in live IP attractions, where hospitality is no longer secondary to the main ticket. It becomes part of the experience architecture, supporting dwell time, repeat attendance and private hire potential.

Gameplay And Actor-Led Participation

Behind The Garrison Tavern, the ticketed Underworld attraction will invite participants into a network of themed environments, including Garrison Lane, The Bookies, Chinatown and The Small Heath Fairground.

Each area is being designed with its own atmosphere, gameplay and hands-on challenges. Actor-led encounters will shape the experience through shifting alliances, hidden agendas and narrative choices linked to loyalty, instinct and nerve.

For experience designers, this points to the growing importance of agency in live entertainment. Audiences increasingly expect to do more than observe. In this case, the production uses participation to place guests within the social rules and risks of the Peaky Blinders world.

The structure also gives operators flexibility. Multiple environments, live performance moments and interactive tasks can support repeat visits, group bookings and variable guest pathways, all of which are valuable within a limited-run production.

Commercial Lessons For IP-Based Attractions

Peaky Blinders Underworld brings together several revenue channels: ticketed admission, hospitality, events, live music and official merchandise. The merchandise offer will draw on the distinctive fashion identity of the series, extending the attraction into retail and brand expression.

For IP owners, the project shows how a television property can be developed into a physical destination while preserving narrative identity. For operators, it demonstrates the value of pairing recognisable story worlds with adaptable venue infrastructure.

As London continues to attract large-scale live entertainment concepts, Peaky Blinders Underworld will be watched closely by producers assessing how mature screen franchises can support themed hospitality, performance-led gameplay and commercial venue programming.
