A new immersive gaming attraction is scheduled to open on London’s Southbank in September 2026, adding another large-scale entertainment format to one of the capital’s busiest cultural and leisure districts.
Arcade Arena is being developed by Little Lion Entertainment, the company behind The Crystal Maze Experience, which recently marked ten years in London. The new venue is expected to bring together three real-world versions of video game-style experiences, each with its own theme, challenge structure and physical gameplay format.
For the UK attractions and location-based entertainment sector, the project reflects continued demand for participatory experiences that combine physical activity, digital systems, themed environments and social play.
Three Game Formats In One Venue
Arcade Arena will feature multiple gaming experiences operating at the same time, allowing the venue to support different group sizes and booking patterns. While detailed information about the individual games has not yet been released, the concept is expected to include competitive racing, interactive maze-based challenges and combat-style gameplay within fully themed settings.
This structure gives the operator scope to manage throughput across several zones, rather than relying on a single linear experience. For venue designers, operators and suppliers, this model is commercially relevant, as it can support repeat visits, varied ticket types, corporate bookings and private hire opportunities.
The project also points to the growing role of familiar gaming mechanics in physical entertainment venues. Racing, maze navigation and team combat are all formats that audiences understand quickly, helping operators reduce onboarding time while still offering scope for challenge, skill and replay value.
Little Lion Entertainment Builds On Proven IP-Led Experience
Little Lion Entertainment’s involvement is significant. The company has already demonstrated the commercial appeal of live-action game formats through The Crystal Maze Experience, which translated a recognisable television property into a team-based attraction.
Arcade Arena appears to take that operational knowledge into a broader gaming-led format, with original or adapted experiences designed for simultaneous play. This could allow the company to serve both leisure audiences and corporate groups without depending on a single source property.
For the wider supply chain, the attraction may create opportunities across scenic build, show control, projection, audio, lighting, sensors, interactive systems, safety design, queue management, guest operations and maintenance planning.
Southbank Location Adds Strategic Value
The choice of Southbank gives Arcade Arena access to an established visitor economy area with strong cultural footfall, transport links and proximity to hospitality, theatre and leisure operators. For investors and experience developers, this location supports a strategy built around group activity, after-work entertainment, tourism and event-led programming.
The venue’s arrival also fits a broader shift in urban leisure, where operators are seeking formats that sit between attractions, games, competitive socialising and live entertainment. These hybrid venues can extend dwell time, attract partnership activity and create opportunities for food, beverage and merchandise revenue.
For Experience UK’s audience, Arcade Arena will be a project to watch as London continues to develop new models for location-based gaming. Its success will depend on operational reliability, strong game design, safety management, audience flow and the ability to keep content fresh after launch.
With its Southbank setting, multi-game structure and experienced operator, Arcade Arena could become a notable addition to the UK’s competitive social entertainment market.
