$5 Billion American Dream mega mall reopens with new attractions

A major New Jersey mall is finally welcoming back families after a long seven-month closure.

The American Dream Mega Mall will reopen some of its experiences today (October 1), including 100 of its 450 retailers, world-class entertainment attractions, and foot outlets.

Amongst the attractions opening today are Nickelodeon Universe, DreamWorks Water Park and the Big SNOW skiing centre.

The reopening also unveils The Secret Garden, which was planned to launch March 2020. The attraction features new art exhibits as guests journey through archways, statues, and greenery.

The three million square feet complex is taking all the necessary steps to provide a safe experience for both staff and visitors amid COVID-19. All guests will be required to wear a mask, temperature checks will be taken on arrival and hand sanitising points will be positioned throughout the facility.

Going forward, the theme parks and waterparks are set to be limited to 750 people, which is less than the 25 per cent capacity set by the New Jersey government. Pre-COVID the DreamWorks Water Park at the Mega Mall had a capacity of 5600.

Visitors are urged to book tickets for the attractions in advanced to avoid disappointment.

American Dream Mega Mall is a relatively new addition to the retailtainment world. After 23 years in the pipeline, the highly anticipated $5 billion complex finally opened its doors in the winter of 2019.

In a non-COVID world the mall is expected to attract 150,000 visitors a day, however it might be a while until they are operating at full capacity.
