Disneyland Paris has shared more exclusive information about the highly anticipated new Cars attraction debuting as early as next year.
The flagship French theme park is to stay closed for the remainder of the year, but that hasn’t stopped Disney Imagineers and Pixar Animation Studios being hard at work bringing the spectacular Cars Route 66 Road Trip visions to life.
The fun filled experience begins as soon as guests enter the Station. Here, visitors will be guided through the Tourist Booth, which is complete with maps, postcards and other various items you would expect to see at a loading station before being guided to the legendary Route 66 Highway.
Disney Imagineers and Pixar have designed an abundance of memorabilia to be on display at the station
Not only does the attraction enrich Disneyland Paris’ spectacular offerings for younger thrill seekers, but it also marks the start of the resort’s expansion. Route 66 Road Trip is the first attraction to be built outside of the current perimeter of Walt Disney Studios Park.
To make the attraction accessible, a new storytelling road is set to be constructed from Toy Story Playland to the Cars experience.
Construction is well underway for the Route 66 Road Trip station
The new attraction is set to be the second inspired by the popular Cars film trilogy at Walt Disney Studios Park, after the launch of Cars Quatre Rous Rallye (Four Wheels Ralley) at Toon Studio land in 2007.
Disney has announced they expect Route 66 Road Trip attraction to start welcoming guests in 2021, with an exact opening date yet to be revealed.
Under French Government guidelines Disneyland Paris is currently closed and is hoping to safely reopen in February 2021.
