Universal Orlando’s Monster Themed Park

Universal Orlando is an entertainment resort complex in Orlando. Last year at a press conference they announced that they were expanding to a fourth theme park which took the world by surprise. Built on a 750-acre site, the park will be south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard.

A few leaked documents unveiled Universal’s massive plans for a park they are calling “Universal’s Fantastic Worlds.” Recently, the same source has brought forth another surprising reveal. The recent leak shows Dracula’s Castle and a caption which reads “Concept Art for one of the many attractions in the Universal Classic Monsters”.

Apparently, Universal is calling this attraction “World of Universal Classic Monsters”. Universal’s Parks are known for their out of the World attractions that feature popular public attractions like King Kong, Jaws and The Mummy. Despite being popular, these attractions haven’t been able to find ample footing.

Because of which, Universal closed the King Kong and Jaws attractions. Nonetheless, Universal has a long list of attractions ideas to choose from when it comes to creating worlds that the public would admire. The Super Nintendo World is another idea that is based on the Fantastic Beasts franchise, with a How To Train Your Dragon area.

Questions may arise whether a Monster themed park would be child-friendly, but we believe an attraction like this broadens the Park’s target market. Universal would want to attract people of all ages.

The Monster world will be themed to a European village, which will have Castle Frankenstein looming on top of it. A windmill from Frankenstein’s climax will also be included. The park is expected to open in 2023.

Apart from the main attractions, the Park will also have smaller buildings for:

  • Dining
  • Shopping
  • Character meet and greets

The park will also have a ride that ties the whole Universe together in one thrilling experience. A classic dark ride will have most of the Monsters. The ride will use KUKA arm technology. Fans can expect to see monsters like:

  • The Wolfman
  • The Mummy
  • The Invisible Man
  • The Phantom of the Opera
  • The Creature from the Black Lagoon

Universal first entered the horror genre way back in 1931 with the movie “The Wolfman”. Scary movies and Haunted houses make great experiences for the public and draw a lot of attention. The park is also giving the monsters their own merchandise store.

Until now, it seems like the vintage European themed park will be located next to the Nintendo themed experiences. The park will have sections of land set aside for further expansions in the future so fans can expect to see more themed worlds. Normally when something is set aside for the future, it means that expanding to it is in future plans; it is just a matter of when to do it.

Interesting news on the Fantastic Beasts World could be next as well as attractions for the Central Hub.
