Trailblazer in the Gaming Industry, Atari, to Launch First Ever Game-Themed Hotel

A string of Atari-labelled gaming resorts are on their way to several US cities. With the burgeoning need for immersive experiences to catch the fancy of consumers, Atari offers a place to play within a place to stay.

Atari recently announced its plan to merge gaming arcades with hotels to create gaming resorts under its brand name. Breaking ground on the first-ever gaming resorts, consumers will get to experience everything from Classic gaming to VR.

While this must have been a futuristic idea ten years earlier, it is a need of the hour invention owing to the growing gaming trend among audiences of all ages. Following the success of themed resorts, Atari’s latest venture seems to combine the best of both worlds. A gaming resort will offer a complete package, a one-stop experience that is likely to appeal to a large demographic.

Atari has always been a pioneer in video games, home computers and consoles, transcending generations for its interactive entertainment elements and products. With immense strides in the video games industry, Atari has now stepped foot in launching the world’s first game-themed hotel.

Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari, described the trailblazer in the gaming industry in his words, “Atari is an iconic global brand that resonates with people of all ages, countries, cultures and ethnic backgrounds and we cannot wait for our fans and their families to enjoy this new hotel concept.”

In a recent press release, the gaming giant Atari, announced its partnership with the GSD Group and True North Studio to launch hotels that will titillate audiences the same way the brand name Atari has for decades.

“Hotel development and design are being led by Shelly Murphy’s GSD Group and Napoleon Smith III, producer of the wildly successful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchise reboot. True North Studio, a leading Phoenix, AZ-based real estate developer—currently working alongside GSD Group with Steve Wozniak’s Woz Innovation Foundation—will develop the first Atari-branded hotel.”

Under such expert guidance, these game-themed resorts will offer gaming playgrounds as well as spaces to serve as a venue for e-sports events. However, to amalgamate luxury and gaming, the resort will still offer all the amenities and facilities that constitute a top-notch hotel.

To sum up, “Atari Hotels level up hotel entertainment with fully immersive experiences for every age and gaming ability, including the latest in Virtual and Augmented Reality.”

The spearheads of this gaming reality have a lot to say about their venture.

“Atari Hotels will be the first of their kind in the U.S., offering gamers of all ages the ultimate in immersive entertainment and in every aspect of gaming. We’re excited to be working on this project with such great partners and to bring a big win to Arizona,”, said Shelly Murphy, CEO of GSD Group.

Napoleon Smith III added to this, “When creating this brand-new hotel concept, we knew that Atari would be the perfect way to give guests the ‘nostalgic and retro meets modern’ look and feel we were going for. Let’s face it, how cool will it be to stay inside an Atari?!”

A game-themed resort packaged in Atari’s exterior is all set to be the Disneyworld of videogames.

The first hotel is coming to Phoenix in 2020, followed by Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Las Vegas, NV, San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, and Seattle, WA.
