The tallest Ferris wheel in Japan, the Osaka Wheel, is being rebranded. The ‘Zombie Ferris Wheel of Hell’ will be an interactive experience, in which guests endure 20 minutes of frights whilst on the ride. The attraction will be rebranded until the end of September, giving guests almost 2 months to enjoy the new look experience.
Riders will be informed by the operator that there are mysterious happenings onboard the attraction. Guests will be completely shut off from the outside world for the 20-minute ride, with only the other riders, dark screens, and screams to keep them company.
The ride uses headphones and seat effects to create a haunting atmosphere, as guests choose their own adventure, altering the outcome with each and every decision they make. Guests must work together to ensure a positive ending, although, there is every chance that they will have a frightening one.
The teaser for the ride reads: “If you chant the mystic words while riding the Ferris wheel, your wish will come true… Hoping to have her wish granted, a young lady stepped aboard the Ferris wheel. After getting into an argument, she’d become estranged from her parents, but now wanted to find them. So she, along with her best friend, sat in the Ferris wheel clutching her memento broach, as their gondola slowly climbed towards the highest point. Was her wish granted? The sky turned an unsettling shade of purple. The gondola was enveloped in inky shadows. A howl rang out. Just what is this place?”
Falling under the fright-themed rebrand, the attraction will also be serving ‘Zom-beer’ and a non-alcoholic zombie beverage which can be purchased online in advance.
