The wait is finally over as the National Museum of Scotland opens its doors on 23 January 2020, to exhibit the most revered, feared and recognisable of all dinosaur species, T-Rex. With a history of over 100 million years, this exhibition will provide visitors of all ages the opportunity to explore and learn more about Tyrannosaurs.
From specimens of rare fossils to cast skeletons and T-Rex family tree, these are some of the major highlights of the exhibition. Visitors will also get a chance to explore the most exciting and latest discoveries in the field of palaeontology, such as the likes of first-known Asian feathered T-Rex and Scotty. Scotty is one of the largest tyrannosaur skeletons in the world, dating back to 66 million years ago. This T-Rex skeleton was discovered in 1994 in Canada.

The Australian Museum is the creator of the T-Rex Exhibition, which has taken place in several countries across the world, including Australia, Canada, the US, and New Zealand. It is set to happen in the UK for the first time from 23 Jan – 4 May 2020
Speaking about the exhibition, the chief executive and director of the Australian Museum in Sydney, Kim McKay, said the public even today is still interested in learning about dinosaurs and their interest has not decreased. Thus, she believes that the exhibition, which will be held at the National Museum of Scotland, will take visitors to the ancient past when T-Rex walked on earth. It will also provide them with information and knowledge about the recent discoveries made through research programs in this domain.
The exhibition aims at providing detailed information about the mighty dinosaur, T-Rex. During the exhibition, visitors will be able to explore the amazing diversity of T-Rex skulls and learn about the different shapes and sizes of this species that existed in the past. Furthermore, the variations in the structure of tyrannosaurs will help visitors find out about the different feed strategies and hunting styles of these savagely fierce predators.
This Tyrannosaurs exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland will take the experience of learning about dinosaurs to a new level. The exhibit will enhance experiences through augmented reality and projections on a large scale. This will allow visitors to interact with large and life-sized T-REX in real-time inside the museum. Moreover, visitors will also be able to walk side-by-side with T-Rex of different shapes and sizes as they explore the gallery in Edinburgh. Through this exhibition, visitors will be able to explore all about tyrannosaur in a unique way and see how they are different from other groups of dinosaurs.
