Shanghai Disney Resort has teased images showcasing a breakthrough in their expansion, which will see the popular Asia theme park launch a next-generation land.
Zootopia is set to be the eighth themed land of Shanghai Disneyland. Here Disney Imagineers have designed a focal point attraction which impeccably blends Disney’s legendary storytelling with ground-breaking technologies, to bring fan favourite and iconic Zootopia characters to life.
Recently (December 30) Shanghai Disney Resort officials and Disney Imagineers, along with leaders from the Administrative Commission of Shanghai International Resort and Shanghai Shendi Group visited the construction site, to watch and celebrate the completion of the final steel roof deck of Zootopia’s centrepiece.

The steel roof deck is expected to become an iconic focal point for Disney visitors, which has been designed to ‘top out’ in its unique development.
Once completed, Zootopia is set to immerse families into the utopian lives of much loved characters Judy and Nick and join them on their action packed conquests and adventures, through merchandise, entertainment and dining experiences.
Construction began December 2019. An opening period for Zootopia is yet to be revealed.
