Universal Orlando resort is ready to welcome back thrill-seekers. Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay will all be reopening on June 5th. The reopening will be carefully managed, with stringent new health, safety, and hygiene measures in place.
Guests will need to follow guidelines and recommendations from health officials and Universal Orlando’s policies. In a statement online the park has outlined that attending the park reopening is not without risk, “any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit.”
In accordance with CDC guidelines, the park has enhanced sanitation procedures and has implemented additional measures for distance spacing and screening. Face covering will be a requirement for all guests and workers within the park. Temperature checks will be taking place upon arrival, where guests recording a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or higher will not be admitted.
Guests are also asked to regularly wash their hands, practise social distancing keeping a gap of 2 metres between groups, follow floor markings and directions from team members, to ensure the safety of all those within the park.
Visitors to the park are encouraged to download the Official Universal Orlando App, where you can order meals with mobile express pick up, get virtual queue times and purchase tickets online, all with a view to creating a contact-free experience.
Confirmation of the resort’s reopening follows approval of the proposed phased reopening plan, from the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force. The proposal was submitted by Universal Orlando CEO John Sprouls on May 21st. The partial reopening of the park began on May 14th, with the CityWalk shopping centre.
