Disney has disclosed new details about its highly anticipated themed hotel known as the Star Wars Hotel. The themed facility at Disney World, Florida, will offer visitors an immersive hotel experience that will take them through the Star Wars Universe. The fans of the franchise have been going gaga over the prospects of a themed hotel based on the Star Wars universe. The title of the new facility has been revealed to be “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser”. Disney has made some strong claims about this new facility, claiming that it will offer a uniquely novel vacation and hotel experience.
It will allow the visitors to check-in for a two-night stay that it promises will be an immersive joy ride. The visitors will get to interact with their favourite characters from the Star Wars Universe, be part of their stories, and experience the incredibly realistically themed interior decor.
During the stay, visitors will get to take part in a plethora of fun-filled, immersive activities. The infamous lightsaber battles of the franchise will come to life for them as they indulge in some action and take lightsaber training. They will also get to operate the Starcruiser systems and be part of the action as they lead excursions to Black Spire Outpost. They will go through an extremely immersive experience of leaving earth and launching into hyperspace. They enter the spaceship through the “launch pods” that will be docked at the Halcyon.
At this point, the airlocks will open, and the visitors get to enter the main deck atrium. From this point on, the visitor will get to be part of the story that will involve characters from the franchise, as well as other passengers on board. Their cabins will offer a view of the constantly changing vistas outside as they travel through the galaxy. The choices that the guest will make along their journey will determine the story of their stay to a great extent. For example, if a visitor is influenced by the dark forces, they will go down a different immersive route, and their experience of the planet excursion will be impacted in some way or the other.
Disney broke this major news by unveiling the very first art concept for the upcoming themed facility. More visual concepts and insights followed later as they were revealed last week at the D23 Expo in Anaheim.
However, there is much that has been deliberately kept under wraps. Things such as when this highly anticipated themed facility will open to visitors, or what it will cost visitors for these immersive stays at the hotel are yet to be disclosed. The idea was to create an initial hype about the upcoming facility, which seems to have worked, judging from the reaction of the fans.
