Nationwide tour launches search for the UK’s best theme parks

A nationwide campaign to crown the UK’s top theme parks has officially launched at Crealy Theme Park & Resort in Devon, marking the opening of the public vote for the UK Theme Park Awards 2026.

Lawrence Roots, founder of the Theme Park Network, joined the Crealy team on 20 July to begin an ambitious tour of 37 nominated theme parks in just 15 days.

Armed with a giant “Vote Now” placard and QR code, Lawrence will travel across the country encouraging visitors to support their favourite parks, rides, attractions and experiences. If successful, the journey could set a world record for the most theme parks visited in little more than two weeks.

The tour will visit some of the UK’s best-known attractions, including Paultons Park—winner of Theme Park of the Year in 2025—Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, LEGOLAND Windsor, Drayton Manor and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, alongside 30 regional theme parks.

“It was fabulous to kick off the tour at Crealy, and I’d like to thank their staff for such a warm welcome,” said Lawrence. “It was amazing to help test their new ride, Rotor, ahead of its opening later in July. Rotor and Pirates’ Plummet are both nominated for the Best New Attraction award.”

Now in their seventh year, the UK Theme Park Awards recognise excellence across the industry—from world-class rollercoasters and new attractions to customer service, entertainment and seasonal events.

Winners are determined through a combination of public voting and scores from a panel of industry experts, with each accounting for 50% of the final result.

“The UK is home to some of the most creative, thrilling and family-friendly attractions in the world,” Lawrence added. “Over the next few weeks, we want to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of teams across all the nominated parks and make it easier than ever for the public to support their favourites.”

Public voting is now open and will close on Friday 28 August 2026. The winners will be revealed during a live awards ceremony at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on 10 September 2026.
