This year’s ‘Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party’ at the Magic Kingdom has been cancelled. The annual event was set to start from the middle of August, taking place after-hours until Halloween had passed. The event will instead take place next year, as things stand.
‘Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party’ is an extra ticket event that runs a couple of nights each week until mid-November. It begins with trick or treating, Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, character meet-and-greets with villains and other popular characters in spooky attire, with holiday-themed fireworks making for a spectacular backdrop.
“While assessing … Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, we determined that many of its hallmarks – stage shows, parades and fireworks – are unable to take place in this new, unprecedented environment,” Disney announced in its blog. “With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.”
Disney H2O Glow Nights at Typhoon Lagoon have also been cancelled for the rest of 2020, although, Halloween Horror nights are still expected to take place. The popular extra-ticket event at Universal Orlando is scheduled to run select nights beginning in September and running through until November 1st.
As attractions plan for reopening, Epcot is set to open with the ‘A Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.’ The festival usually begins in September and runs through November. The popular event has been altered for this year, Disney confirmed in a statement, “We’re pleased to share that we’ve cooked up a modified experience for a fall favourite. A Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be our longest festival yet, debuting July 15 and continuing through the fall.”
The ‘Eat to the Beat’ concert series will not be returning this year; it has been confirmed. A decision is still pending regarding ‘Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’ and the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.
