Merlin Entertainments Bring Some Theme Park Magic to Your Home

Merlin Entertainments are bringing the magic to your home. As theme parks worldwide are shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many are releasing at-home entertainment to help ease the pressure of self-isolation. Merlin are one of those making the effort to connect with visitors online.

Through a new partnership with Twinkl, Merlin Entertainments can share content from its SEALIFE centres to homes all over the world. Twinkl launched an at-home learning hub with free lessons taking place daily. These lessons are keeping children from the ages of 3-16 entertained and educated.

Merlin’s SEA LIFE attractions are providing a unique teaching experience, with behind the scenes videos of the attractions. Videos will feature information from the teams looking after the aquarium’s creatures. The first Twinkl and SEALIFE collaboration is being held today, showing children what a penguin’s lunchtime is like. Penguin keepers at the SEA LIFE London aquarium will teach children all about the life of a penguin.

Merlin Entertainments are also helping to brighten peoples day, through improving their video backgrounds. Different video backgrounds have been created by the Aquarist team at SEA LIFE London, and these can be downloaded for free. These can be used to spice up your video calls or keep your kids entertained through pretending to swim with a sand tiger shark or jellyfish.

The effort to continue engaging with people at home doesn’t stop there. Alton Towers Together is a new social campaign that has been launched. New POV videos of Alton Towers’ popular rides have been viewed over 250,000 times in just one week online. Now, Alton Towers is sharing behind the scenes content, learning resources and family activities to bring some theme park fun to peoples homes. The park has challenged people to take on the Towers Challenge and build the park’s towers out of household items. There is also a design your own hoodie competition, in which hundreds of designs have been submitted.
