A new live-action attraction set in the world of Judge Dredd is coming to London. Judge Dredd Uprising is set to arrive in spring, 2021. The concept will be an immersive, experiential event. Little Lion Entertainment, the team behind the new attraction, also developed the Crystal Maze LIVE Experience, which launched in 2016.
The attraction will be set in megalopolis Brit-Cit, a post-nuclear and futuristic take on London. There will be five zones of mental skill challenges, along with a laser=tag combat arena. The attraction has been described as a fast, frenetic and fun quest in a weird, wild and wired future.
Players in teams of five will need to outwit the Iso-Cube and escape from the Iso-Block, navigating through the future Piccadilly Circus and its mutant, droid and gangster inhabitants. The laser tag battle will take place, before the finale in London’s New Old Bailey.
“This new show is insanely exciting,” said Tom Lionetti-Maguire, founder and CEO of Little Lion. “The experience is part comic book, part sci-fi film, part immersive theatre, part escape room, part action-adventure and part indoor theme park… all wrapped into one.”
Tom continued, “This is our second show and I really wanted us to push the boundaries of what audiences can expect, to explore the space between theatre, film and reality. With Uprising we have really achieved that.”
The live experience will be a culmination of Little Lion’s cutting-edge immersive live theatre, mental and physical challenges, problem-solving and world-building, with an incredible set design. Ground-breaking technology will transport players to a land of crooks, robots and convicts.
CEO of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley OBE, owners and publishers of Judge Dredd, said: “The world of Judge Dredd is the greatest imaginative universe to come out of British comics and we’re proud to bring it to ever-wider audiences. Every reader has dreamed of setting foot in a mega-city, and with Judge Dredd Uprising: The LIVE Experience they can do just that.”
