IAAPA EXPO 2020 replaced by virtual conference due to COVID-19

A global trade association for the attractions industry has announced the cancellation of their annual event this Autumn, due to COVID-19.

IAAPA Expo 2020 was due to take place this November, in Orlando. However, with social distancing rules in place, barriers in international travel, and ongoing concerns amid the pandemic IAAPA’s organisers have had no choice but to cancel the in-person event.

Instead, a Virtual Education Conference will take its place November 16 18. The online expo has taken content from its original programme to deliver sessions and presentations virtually. 25 sessions and two keynote presentations are available to attend, which will be lead by industry experts and professionals.

Some of these include:

  • Operations best practices in Asia
  • Global attractions safety
  • Automation and digitalisation in attractions operations
  • Insights on the changing expectations of asset and safety management in the attractions industry

Speaking of the change in plans, Hal McEvoy, President and CEO of IAAPA said:

“While we are disappointed we are unable to meet in-person this year, we are already looking ahead to IAAPA Expo 2021 in Orlando.

“We also appreciate the patience, support and commitment from our dedicated IAAPA Expo exhibitors.”
