Hong Kong Disneyland is set to open a new princess castle centrepiece to coincide with its milestone celebration.
Disney resorts around the world are experiencing turbulent times through COVID 19, Disneyland California has yet to get the go ahead to reopen since March, Walt Disney World Orlando has announced thousands of redundancies and Disneyland Paris has been forced to close again due to the French government imposing its second national lockdown.
However, despite facing two forced closures in 2020 – Hong Kong Disneyland hasn’t lost its magical touch through the pandemic and is set to excitingly launch its Castle of Magical Dreams to coincide with the park’s 15th anniversary.
First castle inspired by every legendary Disney princess
Instead of focusing on one legendary Disney princess, uniquely the Castle of Magical Dreams pays tribute to all 13 heroines – including fan classics Belle, Cinderella and Snow White and modern favourites Elsa and Mulan.
Disney fans will will discover how the new castle was imagineered
To mark the magical Disney stories, each of the many towers and spires featured on the castle includes iconic patterns, textures and colours which are individually inspired by a different Disney princess.
Not only will the Castle of Magical Dreams be a treat for the eyes, but also acts as a shining focal point of bravery, hope and possibility to visitors at the park.
Making history as the first Disney castle to be reimagined
Previously Beauty and the Beast’s castle, the grand transformation is the first time an existing Disney castle has undergone a major renovation. Disney invites guests to discover how the castle was transformed by visiting Building a Dream: The Magic Behind a Disney Castle exhibition, which launches the same day as the new castle.
To also coincide with its landmark occasion, a special Glimpse into the Magic Tour is launching at the Castle of Magical Dreams. As part of the tour, guests will journey through the new enchanting centrepiece by enjoying a guided audio tour by Hong Kong celebrity and renowned Disney fan Karena Lam.
