Bosses at Gulliver’s Valley theme park have issued a statement on the reopening of their resorts. Gulliver’s Valley, in Rotherham, was originally set to open earlier this year but the opening was delayed following the outbreak of the coronavirus. A new opening date is yet to be confirmed, although tickets can be purchased via the website from July 4th onwards.
Julie Dalton, managing director at Gulliver’s Theme Parks and Resorts, said: “The Gulliver’s team have been working hard to put measures in place for our reopening. We have been adapting our facilities and creating new experiences for families to enjoy when we are able to safely welcome them back. Our reopening will put the safety of guests, staff and local communities as a priority, whilst remaining loyal to our ethos – offering magical memories and big adventures for families.”
Julie continued, “We will continue to adapt and can reassure future guests that we have worked tirelessly, whilst also taking advice from global experts, on implementing measures to reopen safely. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation, both our fantastic staff and customers, and we will continue to keep everyone informed with further updates as soon as possible.”
As it stands, all Gulliver’s theme parks and resorts are to remain closed, although further announcements are expected as lockdown rules are further relaxed. Elsewhere, other theme parks in England such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park are looking to reopen on the 4th of July.
Last month Alton Towers released a statement detailing plans for reopening safely, with social distancing measures in place to ensure the safety of guests and staff members within the park. Chester Zoo have also reopened to the public this week, following a turbulent few weeks in which the attraction announced financial struggles, before issuing a plea to the public for support through donations.
