Experience UK DIT Blog – July

As most of the country takes its holiday, the beaver-like Experience Economy team at the Department for International Trade is busy planning for the rest of the year. We are delighted to be supporting a group of ALES-UK companies at the Euro Attractions Show in Amsterdam in late September and we are making preparations for our stand at IAAPA in November. As has become the norm, we will be offering (at very modest rates) UK companies the opportunity to be on our stand to promote their wares. For information on the options, please contact Rozmin.blatt@trade.gov.uk

In July I attended the exciting-sounding Digital Signage Summit in Frankfurt – and I note that precisely no Experienceuk members took advantage of the discount we negotiated! Despite the rather dry title, the conference was fascinating, exploring – for example – the ever more complex synergies between the experience world, branding, retail and customer relationship management. Recommended for anyone working in that space.

July also saw the publication of research we commissioned into the US museums market over the coming five years. This is a really excellent piece of work from Ann Curtis and the MuseumINSIDER team and it is available to all members. If you have not received it and wish to, please let me know (Richard.parry@trade.gov.uk).

Saudi Arabia continues to be a focus for us, and we are planning a creative industries trade mission to the Kingdom in early October. For details and for information on our efforts to access the opportunities emerging from Vision 2030, please contact graham.ellis@mobile.trade.gov.uk  One of the key players in the delivery of Vision 2030 is SAGIA – the Saudi Arabia General Investment Agency – and we are building a close working relationship with the team there with a view to being able to better articulate to you the opportunities emerging in the Kingdom.
