A major Dinosaur theme park is set to open in the Costa Del Sol next year.
Spain’s Ministry of Sustainable Development has announced the Rincón de la Victoria Dinosaur and Zip Line Theme Park which is set to open in Malaga in 2021.
The mammoth €3.6 million project developed by Paalwing Park will have an abundance of raursome dinosaur rides and attractions on offer through nearly 70,000 square metres of space.
A hiking trail which authentically resembles Europe’s Jurassic period is set to be the centrepiece of the park, which will feature 35 spectacular dinosaur replicas. The route will include 19 life-size dinosaurs and 16 with mobility, which are being developed to mimic how the captivating mammal behaved 66 million years ago.
Other attractions revealed include a zip line, archaeological zone and dinosaur viewpoints. A tapas food counter, restaurants and a dinosaur themed souvenir shop are also planned at Malaga’s newest attraction.
The park’s curators hope the attraction will be the ‘best known family park in Malaga’ which is a hotspot of Spain’s tourism, with the Costa Del Sol welcoming 13 million annual visitors pre-COVID.
Speaking to Spanish media, Francisco Salado Mayor of Rinconero Malaga said: “This theme park will be a tourist attraction with education elements based on the world of dinosaurs, where both large and small can actively enjoy their time.”
The first phase of Rincón de la Victoria Dinosaur is expected to open early next year, with the zip line being added to the park by 2024.
