Dubai Safari Park announces open date with new attractions

Dubai Safari Park promises thrills for the whole family with an open date set for this October.

The animal park famously closed in 2018 after just six months in operation. Now owners of the park Dubai Municipality believe the safari is better than ever after expanding the facilities and enriching the existing experiences for animal lovers.

Spanning 119 hectares, the safari’s curators have carefully designed the experience to mirror the spectacular surroundings of wild habitats. Visitors can choose to transport themselves around the safari in their own vehicle or hop into an air-conditioned train with other visiting parties.

Dubai Safari Park boasts an expanding community of 3000 mammals, birds, amphibians and invertebrates. New additions include African elephants and giraffes, as well as the chance to see rarer species, including a Komodo dragon, a spiral-horned antelope and an Arabian Oryx.

As well as getting up close to some of the world’s most spectacular wild animals on safari, the park has also introduced a wide range of interactive, educational and entertainment experiences, including giraffe feeding, a kids farm and bird show.

Commenting on the opening Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality said: “As the momentum of recovery in the tourism market gathers pace, Dubai Safari provides an exciting attraction for both international visitors and residents.

“The redesigned Dubai Safari has many unique interactive programmes blended into the safari journey that provide visitors with a unique and memorable experience. Not only can they see different types of animals from across the world, but they can also enjoy activities, performances and shows that entertain as well as educate.”

Dubai Safari Park opens October 5 with the necessary social distancing measures in place. Guests are required to book online before their visit.
