Disneyworld plans to reopen water park in March 2021

Disneyworld plans to reopen one of its two water parks in March 2021.

Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have remained shut since the forced closure in March. However, Disney officials are confident the water parks will have the best measures in place to welcome guests again Spring next year.

An announcement by Disney read: “Like the other areas of Walt Disney World Resort, we will welcome back Guests and Cast Members to our water parks in a responsible way, with a plan focused on health and well-being.

“We will provide more details on our phased reopening plan, including a decision on the specific water park that will be reopening first, at a later time. This reopening date may change and if it does, we will let Guests know what to expect in a future update.”

Disney will work alongside Florida’s federal government to gain approval before the reopening goes ahead.

Collectively, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach welcomed almost five million visitors in 2019 with the year closure causing serious waves on Disney’s finances.

A report by Deutsche Bank indicated Disney’s 2020 revenue had declined by an eyewatering $10 billion as a result of COVID-19.

The chosen water park is due to reopen March 7.

Elsewhere, a Kiev shopping and entertainment destination has launched a brand new rollercoaster.
