Blackpool to Launch Game Changing Developmental Plan

The 3 million developmental plan for regeneration of Blackpool Central nears incubation as all parties sign a legal agreement for the lease of the land.

Simon Blackburn, leader of the council, made this revelation in an interview. “Throughout the course of this year the council has continued negotiations with Nikal in relation to the terms of the development and for bringing the proposals to fruition”.

He went on to add, “These negotiations are now at an advanced stage and we are delighted to announce the terms have now been agreed for the release of the land required to kick start development on the site.”

This project is the brainchild of Nikal Ltd, and Media Investment Entertainment. The Blackpool Council is working with the two parties to realize the project that is expected to deliver in different phases over a period of 8 to 9 years.

The developmental plan is expected to attract around 600,000 more visitors per year including a spending sum of €75 m. It is also set to create around 1,000 more jobs, making it a significant development with the potential for major economic impact.

The site plan includes several phases. The Enabling Phase will include a car park building with 1,300 parking spaces as well as a drop-off coach facility. This will make transport and the hassle of open-air parking much easier for visitors.

Phase 1 is set to comprise some of the major attractions like UK’s first flying theatre. This moving sensation will look to deliver an immersive experience to a range of visitors from ages 4 to 58. This attraction is set to highlight Blackpool central as a class apart from other theme parks.

The Alien Diner will provide a breathtaking themed restaurant to visitors with a roller-coaster service, the essence of all major theme parks. With an artisan food market and a full-fledged gaming zone, phase 1 includes something for everyone.

Other attractions of phase 1 include an Adventureland, multimedia exhibition and an event square.

Phase 2 includes residential apartments including a destination hotel with a capacity of over 250 rooms.

Phase 3 will further add residential apartments as well as nightclub and music facilities for maximum entertainment of guests.

The plan serves as a great community service apart from being a major entertainment hub. The wide array of attractions in the phases to be launched over the years will create a myriad of employment opportunities for people. Every 1 in 2 18 year olds in Blackpool will have access to more jobs to earn a living.

The influx of unique attractions will provide a unique experience to guests, a class apart from anything that is already available in the UK. The influx of revenue generated by this developmental project will be a great boost to the economy of Blackpool.

The latest plan that is now underway is being heralded a major game-changer for tourism in the region. Blackpool is on its way to becoming a one-stop attraction with eye-catching elements, housing facilities, immersive activities and the first ever flying theatre – a futuristic jump for the resort.
