The tallest rollercoaster in the UK is welcoming ultra-thrill seekers to climb its iconic red and blue lift hill to its eyewatering 235 feet summit.
Pleasure Beach has unveiled a series of dates next year in which adrenaline junkies can strap up and enjoy an escorted climb to the top of the legendary Big One.
As the second largest structure on Blackpool’s coastline (after Blackpool Tower) Walk the Big One allows those brave enough to indulge in panoramic views of the seaside resort’s promenade, beach, piers and ample of amusement arcades while strapped into a harness and protective clothing.
The whole experience last 90 minutes, and includes just 420 steps, with guests embarking on tantalising hill stops every 50 feet before reaching the devilish summit.
When opened in 1994, The Big One was the tallest rollercoaster across the globe.
Previously speaking to Visit Blackpool Nick Thompson, Deputy Managing Director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach said: “The Big One is one of the most iconic roller coasters in the world. It was a world’s first for its sheer height and speed and we want to give riders an experience no other amusement park can give them.
“In previous years, these events have been hugely popular and because of this we have decided to continue them and allow even more visitors to enjoy stunning views of Blackpool and beyond and experience a completely different type of thrill on this iconic ride.”
The thrilling experience is available during a series of Friday evenings between March 26 and October 8. Those interested can check availability here.
And Walk the Big One isn’t the only thing keeping Pleasure Beach super busy in 2021. Next year, the legendary theme park celebrates its 125 year anniversary.
