Bangalore to Unveil World Class Entertainment Arena

During a time when international artists are beginning to tap into Indian markets, conducting tours to Mumbai and Delhi, Bengaluru is set to be the first city to house a world class entertainment arena.

This entertainment hub for both global as well as Indian artists is set to be built on a land spanning to 6.3 acres with a project budget of more than 1 billion rupees. Headed by a consortium of Live Nation Entertainment, The Embassy Group and Phase 1 Experiences, this global attraction is tendered out by Bangalore International Airport.

The Arena will be the first “experiential and entertainment destination” in Bangalore and is expected to launch in the coming 18 to 20 months. Mirroring the Madison Square Garden in New York and the O2 Arena in London, the proposed space will host a wide spectrum of multi genre events including sport events, musical concerts and major conferences at Kempegowda International Airport.

Live Nation, a leading global live entertainment company with 30,000 annual concerts and more than 20 venues to its credit, will act as consultant to the conglomerate regarding the project’s development.

Paul Antonio, President of Live Nation in Asia and Middle East stated, “We’re pleased to be able to contribute to the establishment of this world-class venue, both in terms of supporting the mobilisation and subsequently the programming of international artists. We look forward to bringing our touring artists and live events here as soon as the doors open, and for years to com.”

Aditya Virwani, COO of the Embassy Group, talked about giving back to the city, “The venue will place the city on the global map as a destination for prestigious events”. He further added “After having three decade of experience in commercial, residential, industrial, warehousing, hospitality, education and retail spaces, now we have got an opportunity to build the end-to-end infrastructure of the entertainment venue.”

Oum Pradutt, founder of Phase 1 Experiences described the project as an iconic addition that will be good enough to rival international concert arenas, establishing Bangalore on the global map as the go-to destination for entertainment extravaganza.

“We’re pleased to be able to contribute to the establishment of this world-class venue, both in terms of supporting the mobilisation and subsequently the programming of international artists. We look forward to bringing our touring artists and live events here as soon as the doors open, and for years to com.”

Describing the economic significance of this project, he went on to add, “This will attract audiences and fans from not just across India, but across South Asia, and establish Bengaluru’s position as a live concert and entertainment capital – globally,”.

The entertainment arena will have four experience zones. The supersized dome has a capacity to hold 9,000 fans for live concerts and events. The other dome will have a capacity of 2,000 people for major corporate events. The outdoor space will cater to open air events, adding another dimension to the space. Lastly, there will be a modern zone to host networking, celebrating music and culture.

With the fruitful backing and global expertise of Live Nation, the project is set to highlight India’s third major city as an upcoming touring destination.
