A new family-focused entertainment complex is due to open this month in Aljada, Sharjah. UAE developer Arada released a statement confirming the opening date for phase one of their Madar project. The public has the opportunity to see the project up close and personal from February 27th onwards.
Madar is to be Sharjah’s largest lifestyle destination, made up of different clusters of zones and attractions, in front of a breathtaking natural backdrop, with over 5,000 trees having been planted on site. As a part of phase one, Madar contains a food district which has 18 different types of cuisine, along with children’s play areas, a skate park, amphitheatre, events spaces and the main attraction, a discovery centre. The site will also have over 800 parking spaces to cater for the expected crowds.
Throughout the calendar year, there are many festivals, events and activities planned to ensure that visitors return again and again. The full list of events will be released shortly online, but for now, the launch of the complex takes centre stage and is expected to draw record numbers of visitors.
Chairman Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said: “It has been our aim from the start to create communities that inspire and engage their residents and visitors. We are excited to see that vision come to life with the launch of Madar, a new home for entertainment and culture in Sharjah, a place that is already known the world over for its outstanding contribution to heritage and the arts.”
When fully completed the complex will cover 1.9 million sq ft, and will be the focal point of Aljada. The project is split into 3 phases, and following the completion of phase 1 you can expect to see large lush green spaces throughout, that are designed to be explored in all weathers, even in the peak of the middle eastern summertime.
Alongside the completion of the entertainment complex, the UAE based developer Arada are also in the process of developing a new $190million student accommodation, to cater for the 20,000 students that attend the university in the city, as a part of the megaproject for Ajada.
