However, as Richard Parry stresses, the ‘experience economy’ is still only known by a very narrow band of people, with a surprising number of organisations who fit into the sector not recognizing this to be the case.  One goal for 2018 is to change this by more widely communicating that the Department for International Trade’s raison d’etre is to connect supply and demand. 

Experience UK has representation in over 100 countries around the world – people’s whose role is to find business for Experience UK members. The target markets of Hong Kong China, UAE and USA are especially tuned to the creative industries and excellent at identifying opportunities for UK companies.

In terms of important sectors, Richard pinpoints retail as the one to watch, particularly the notion of delivering customer experience rather than pure transaction.
